With spring here, I hardly have any creative time, but I am working on small projects little by little. One of them is to continue freezing flowers in blocks of ice and photographing them. I mean, how can I not when the garden keeps producing such lovely specimens? So here is a little sampling of my latest work.
I am so pleased with this last frozen lilac that I placed it in the Lorton Workhouse show in the Vulcan Gallery (W16) for the month of May. The finished piece is wax coated, which gave it a wonderful finished texture. I also have framed pieces in studio 902, building 9. Join us for second Saturday, May 11th from 6 to 9 PM.
These are so beautiful! I especially like the lilacs with the script. I never would have dreamed you could get such cool effects by actually freezing flowers!

Thank-you so much Holly. I have been preparing for a lecture on this technique, so have been working on alternative processes. I love script with photographic images, especially simple flowers, it gives that botanical feel, which I love.
