I may have removed up to three layers by lunch time, as temperatures rise, but it sure has been gorgeous spring. With temperatures below normal, the flowering trees have been blooming longer with more flowers and fewer leaves. Here's a photograph of Oak Hill, taken this morning;
There is a new book titled "Private Edens" by Jack Staub which features Oak Hill (one of a few local gardens), with photography by Rob Cardillo. It's a must have book for anyone living in the area, we have some of the most lovely gardens in the country. Every featured garden is privately owned, so it's sort of a peek into the very best of the mid-atlantic and north-east. And as a privileged person that sees and works in this lovely garden every week, I feel very proud!
