The night garden went into hyper drive last night, the first night of fall. Between the Cestrum nocturnum, moonvine and brugmansias, it's "over the top"! My favorite plant, the Brugmansia 'Frosty Pink', has branched to 15 feet in width and was so covered in flowers that I'm afraid it's trying to kill itself. Seriously there were at least 100 flowers.
The moon vine has grown along the string lights, almost obliterating the path at the end of the garden.
This summer has been extremely enjoyable, always the perfect match for typical day working folks that get to come home and enjoy their garden after hours. As I raise my hand! Not just in the visual sense, but more for the fragrance which can be like rocketing to the moon.
And speaking of night and fall, my show ("Saints and Sinners") begins on October 1 with the reception October 10th from 4 to 6 at Art A La Carte. Here are a few more small works, a sneak preview.
If you join me, I might add that the small town of Occoquan is loaded with great places to eat and drink. A couple of suggestions, The Blue Arbor Cafe (closes at 4, go here first) has great sandwiches and Mom's Apple Pie (closes at 7, go here for dessert) is not to be missed!
Great pieces, wish I could be there for your show!
