As if life isn't already full of work deadlines, doing laundry, car maintenance, and child care (for some of you), we have birthdays, holidays, and life events. The latter rarely trump work related schedules, but they can cause complications when it comes to the calendar. In some cases this is a good thing because it gets us to places we may not have traveled to (hopefully with joyous reasons). It also finds us face to face with family members for birthdays and weddings, holidays and funerals (sadly).
Followed quickly behind Thanksgiving is my grandson's birthday and this year he is three. He does not live right around the corner and my work schedule gets a bit full during the Christmas season with work at Merrifield Gardens, but I am grateful for this reason to see him again, face to face and hug him tight. He is struggling with the three fingers position to help people understand he is not two anymore, he is also in some sort of denial about three, he claims he is still two. Almost like a license to still behave like he is two.
To say I am lucky is an understatement, everyone is healthy with a good attitude (most of the time). My children have grown into incredible adults, honest, compassionate, and hardworking. I don't see enough of them but a birthday can make it so, for my children and extended family.
So here I present my adorable grandchildren... again. Happy third birthday to Quinn, my one and only three year old grandson.
Adorable is an understatement! Lucky grandmother!

I still have trouble thinking of you as old enough to be a grandmother, but I am so glad it is incredibly gratifying to you. They sure are cute kids, and the photography is wonderful, of course.
